About the Materials and Finishes
The strength of Enclume products begins with the high quality cold-rolled steel they use to manufacture their products. Enclume uses electro-plating to obtain the jewel like finish on their copper pot racks and accessories. The copper accessories are electro-plated with two layers of copper. In comparing solid brass or solid copper to our electro-plated finishes, they do not come close to the strength, maintenance and durability standards demonstrated by Enclume electro-plated racks. The copper electro-plated finishes are not lacquered so over time they will develop a patina. They can remain bright with regular polishing using a non-abrasive cleaner but be sure that all trace of cleaner is removed or the finish will tarnish again immediately.
